Anxiety / Stress Management

Methods of coping with stress to do with work, relationships, school and life experiences such as adjustments, retirement, new baby, changing schools and relocating the family. This area also focuses on time management, prioritising using cognitive behavioural therapy. Social problems, fears and anxiety regarding social problems are discussed with positive outcomes.

Depression

Provide supportive counselling for those with feelings of low mood, low levels of energy and motivation, fatigue and poor self-esteem, body image and eating disorders.

Addiction and substance dependence

Supportive counselling offered for those that are battling with addiction.

Gender

Providing supportive counselling that provides insight into what it means to be a man /woman in society today? How do we assign and engage in gender roles? How do we live within the limits of gender identity and how do we negotiate sexual orientation? Counselling also explores the issues dealing with guilt, betrayal, infidelity, self worth, and lowered self-efficacy.

Grief / Bereavement

Loss of a loved one? what happens now and how do we cope with this void and all the pressures regarding the loss.

Family Therapy

Acting as a neutral ground, with no alliances, we will be working on communication channels, arguing, compromise, respect and identifying the family dynamic that can aid functionality. Behavioural patterns, discipline, routine and structure regarding children are also addressed. Issues like finances, new baby, new step-parents are also dealt with.

Trauma

Trauma debriefing and on-going supportive counselling in dealing with victims of rape, hijacking, child abuse, sexual abuse, job loss, robbery and other crimes. Deconstructing trauma and how the body and mental states are affected by the experience and through counselling lessening the symptoms of trauma.

Marital / Couples

Communication, infidelity, productive arguing styles and identifying damaging cycles in relationships. Understanding each other as opposed to just tolerating your partner. Working through infidelity and the trauma associated. Sexual and intimacy problems as well as self-esteem problems.

Career / Vocational Assessments

Aptitude tests, IQ, emotional profile indexing, skills and interests are determined using psychometric tests and the results are collaborated and a career path is jointly found, in alignment with strengths, skills and interests.

Scholastic Assessments

IQ, concentration problems, aptitude, time management, study skills and subject choice packages. Psychometric tests are used to determine the above with some supportive counselling in the way forward, given the outcome.

Children

Counselling children through the medium of play, engaging with the child on their level, in dealing with issues regarding: emotional difficulties, death, separation, divorce, bullying, identity, self-esteem and anxiety.
